RORY FAINARU

Born and raised in North London, I’m a journalist with a particular interest in fashion, music, and contemporary culture. Starting with my own music blog, ‘Dissected’, at 14 – where I reviewed albums, films, and fashion – I’ve always enjoyed picking apart culture; thinking about what it means and how it resonates.

Fashion and words have always been at the heart of my world. Being raised by writers and engulfed in fashion from a young age, things came full circle in 2024 when I started BA Fashion Communication: Journalism at Central Saint Martins. Studying at CSM has not only helped me meet like-minded upcomers in the industry, allowed me to use graphic design and creative direction as a form of journalistic expression, but has also enabled me to forge connections with titans of the industry, such as Suzy Menkes and Charlotte Collins.

My work focuses on how fashion is forever entwined with culture, exploring its relationship with art, photography, and music. I also take particular interest in upcoming designers, and those behind the scenes who don’t get their well-deserved credit. Through my work, I aim to power and uplift.

In September 2025, I covered London Fashion Week for Noctis Magazine, and am currently creating the layout for British Wool’s upcoming zine.
